Ski resorts around the world

December 23, 2009

Children throwing snowballsWhile a holiday in the Swiss Alps certainly has its perks, you may be surprised to learn of a number of ski resorts from Lebanon to Turkey that are just as scenic and waiting to be explored. So we've pulled together a list of 24 of these ski resorts both in the usual holiday hotspots and off the beaten path for you to think about on your next winter holiday.

But, what if I don't know how to ski? Well, although learning can seem daunting, truth be told, it's no harder than learning how to ride a bicycle for the first time. Better still, almost all ski resorts provide some form of professional training if you reserve your spot in advance. The Telegraph recently published a list of just such ski resorts for first-timers.

Note that although most ski resorts have skis available for rent, you will need to pick up some specialized ski gear from eyewear to socks that aren't available on rent.

So, now that you're all set, here they are - 24 ski resorts from around the world this winter. Each of the links below will take you to an external website with additional information and photographs of each of the ski resorts. If you'd like to plan your ski holiday from flights to hotels and activities, talk to our Travel Experts on 06 557 1000 or tell us a little bit about where you'd like to go.
