When it comes to extreme sports, you probably have a bucket list full of activities you’ve always wanted to try. Bungee jumping is one of the most popular ones that doesn’t require any training or previous preparation. All you need to do is show up, take a deep breath, and jump!

No matter how much you’re told about it, a first-hand experience is different. The idea itself of jumping with nothing more than an elastic string for safety is quite crazy, but what is life without a bit of crazy? It takes guts to jump that first time, but once you’ve done it you’ll be addicted to the adrenaline rush. You can practically bungee jump anywhere in the world, but the locations differ according to height and surrounding landscape. We recommend you go for it at one of the following spectacular destinations.

Kawarau Bridge, New Zealand

If you’re looking to bungee jump, why not do it in style at the place where it all began? New Zealand has always been known as the adventure centre of the world and Queenstown is the perfect example. What makes Queenstown so unique is that it’s the only place you are allowed to touch the water while bungee jumping from 43 metres above the Kawarau River and you can also do bungee advances (in reverse).

Verzasca Dam, Switzerland

Speaking of style, ever wondered what it would be like stand in the shoes of 007? The Verzasca Dam was made famous by the iconic opening scene for the James Bond movie “Goldeneye” and since then people from all over the world have been coming to Switzerland to recreate the daring stunt. Imagine being surrounded by the amazing Swiss scenery with the Alps on one side, a lake on the other, and the azure river below. At 220 meters, this one is for the strong hearted.

Bloukrans Bridge, South Africa

Located right in the heart of South Africa, the Bloukrans Bridge stands at a thrilling 216 metres, making it one of the most popular bungee destinations in the world. Take in the stunning landscapes of the surrounding South African wilderness and distant sea views then take the leap of faith. This particular jump has been done by Prince Harry and Jack Osbourne.

Kolnbrein Dam, Austria

Kolnbrein Dam is the highest dam wall in Austria and provides an interesting bungee jump for adrenaline seekers at 169 metres. For more excitement, Austria has another location famous among bungee enthusiasts at Europabrücke Bridge (192 metres).

Victoria Falls Bridge, Zimbabwe/Zambia

If you’re looking for an epic bungee experience to which you can proudly boast about later, the Victoria Falls Bridge is the answer. In this spectacular setting, you’re standing in no man’s land between two countries, Zimbabwe and Zambia, atop a classic bridge at 111 metres, with the sound of the waterfalls behind you and crocodiles swimming beneath you in the Zambezi River. Epic is an understatement!
