Salim is known for several TV shows including Ek Packet Umeed (2008) and also the long-running Hindi serial Baa Bahoo Aur Baby (2010). Besides television, Salim has performed in a number of plays as well such as Azar ka kwab, Atmakatha, Shyam Rang, Lakeerein, and Mera Kuch Saman, with the latest being the Humsafar play in which she stars alongside Harsh Chhaya. The drama play, which received a lot of praise, tells the story of Sameer (Chhaya) and Sonal (Salim), a couple who decide to divorce after fifteen years of marriage, believing they could start fresh, but over the years they slowly realize they cannot live without each other. Her film credits include the 2012 Indian satirical comedy/drama OMG – Oh My God in which she plays Paresh Rawal’s wife.
Daughter of famous writer Javed Siddiqui and costume designer Farida Javed, Salim has always had a passion for acting. She is married to Salim Arif, costume designer and assistant director in theatre, whom she met while working on the tele-serial Discovery of India. The couple have two sons.

What is your idea of a perfect holiday?
My idea of a perfect holiday has to be a combination of the sun, sea, and loved ones.
What is your favourite holiday spot/destination?
I love Mauritius and Goa. Europe is amazing as well, of course.
What connects you to travel? Is it food, culture, history, or adventure?
A bit of everything is what connects me to travel. Definitely culture, food, and history spiced with adventure.
What do you enjoy/love the most about UAE/Dubai?
Everywhere you look there’s an eye pleasing view. I love the systematically planned infrastructure and the world’s best modern architectural extravaganza. Also, most importantly, I love shopping in Dubai.

What are the 3 things you can't go without on your holiday?
I can’t go on holiday without a great and equally mad travel partner/friend, cash and credit cards for sure, and a pair of walking shoes.
