Did you know that Switzerland has a total of 1,484 lakes? A country like Switzerland is the definition of beauty and serenity. It is not just about their popular cheese, watches, or chocolates. It is much more than that. The serenity lies within the hard-to-beat landscapes of mountains and silent clear lakes. You can enjoy a variety of activities like swimming, fishing, and boat tours. They are so stunning that if you choose to just relax and simply gaze at them, you will feel extreme happiness. Every traveller should visit a few of them in their lifetime. Oeschinen Lake

In 2007 the Oeschinen Lake, part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch-Beitschhorn area, was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The breath-taking lake has an elevation of 1,578 metres with a surface area of about 1.1 square kilometres. It is fed by a series of creeks in the surrounding mountains and is usually frozen from December to May, allowing for ice fishing given its large population of trout.

Lake Geneva

Dominating the city of Geneva is this huge lake which is considered one of the largest in Europe. One of the most iconic symbols of the city is the Jet d’Eau fountain within Lake Geneva. At 140 meters high, the beautiful fountain is the largest of its kind in the world. 

Lake Lucerne

Enjoy a beautiful boat ride along this popular lake. Stretching a long way from the surreal city of Lucerne to the majestic Swiss Alps, it is the fourth-largest lake in all of Switzerland.

Lake Thun
