Air France

    Air France is the French flagship air carrier, with its headquarters in Tremblay, France. It is the subsidiary company of the Air France-KLM Group. It is also amongst the founding members of the SkyTeam airline alliance. The airline was formed on October 7, 1933, born out of a merger between Air Union, Air Orient, Compagnie Générale Aéropostale, Compagnie Internationale de Navigation Aérienne (CIDNA) and Société Générale de Transport Aérien (SGTA).

    Fleet

    The airline operates a fleet with both Boeing and Airbus aircraft for its long-haul routes. It also makes use of the Airbus A320 family of aircraft for its short-haul routes. It has over 150 aircraft in service, as well as a cargo fleet consisting of Boeing 777 Freighters and Boeing 747-400 Freighters.

    Destinations

    Since 2011, Air France has been a full service global carrier, flying to over 168 international destinations and 36 domestic destinations in over 90 countries. The primary hub remains at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, while other airports like Paris Orly Airport, Marseille Provence Airport Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, Nice Côte d'Azur Airport and Toulouse Blagnac Airport act as secondary hubs.

    Cabin Layout

    Cabin layout consists of La Première, Business-class, Premium Economy and Economy. The Première or the first-class arrangements include premium leather seats, which can be converted into two-meter long beds. The passengers can also enjoy a 10.4" touch screen personal screen, which offers gaming, music and movies. Business class also comes with similar comforts, and in some flights, business-class is the highest available capacity. Premium economy offers passengers 40% more space than normal economy, clubbed with double baggage allowance, priority check-in and lounge access.

    In-Flight Meals and Entertainment

    Air France’s La Première menu is specially designed by Chef Guy Martin of Le Grand Vefour, a Michelin three-star restaurant in Paris. The rich menu includes entrées, hors d’oeuvres, bread baskets, including pastries, and tartlets. Economy and Premium Economy passengers are also treated to fresh and hygienic hot meals. The airline also serves complimentary champagne to passengers of all classes.

    As a part of its entertainment system, Audio Video on Demand (AVOD) is offered to passengers of all cabins in all long-haul routes. This entertainment system includes multiple channels for music, movies, TV shows and games. Passengers can enjoy all this using high-end Sennheiser noise-cancelling headphones.

    Le Salon

    These are the premium lounges offered by the airline to its La Première, business-class and premium economy passengers. The Air France lounges offer food and beverage, along with free Wifi, restrooms and the Clarins Spa.
