Saudi Airlines

Saudi Arabian Airlines commenced operations in 1945. At that time, it had only a single twin-engine Douglas DC-3 aircraft, given by President Franklin D Roosevelt to King Abdul Aziz as a gesture of friendship. After a few months, a purchase was made for two more such airplanes, laying the foundation for the majestic operations the airline runs today as one of the world’s leading operators. It has received numerous awards and accolades over the years. In 2004, the airline received the prestigious Silver MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Travel Award grabbing the title of Best ME & NA Airlines. In 2000, it received various awards in recognition of its in-flight services for passengers with special needs, like the award by International Flight Catering Association (IFCA) and International In-Flight Food Service Association (IFSA).
