City Tour of Tirana+ Coastal Town OD Durres | 21st July
Breakfast in the hotel. This day we'll visit the colorful streets of Tirana, which was made the capital of Albania in just 1920. We’ll see the main sites, including the impressive façade of the National History Museum which is adorned with a gigantic mosaic known as ‘The Albanians’. This is one of the finest examples of late Albanian Socialist Realism in the country which dominates Skanderbeg Square. We will see the historical sights such as Scanderbeg square, Ethem Bey mosque and the main government street. We will pass by the communist landmarks like the Blloku area, where villas were once occupied by members of The Politburo (former leading sect of the Party of Labour of Albania) but which is now the lively centre of Tirana’s nightlife where trendy bars, cafés, and fashionable clubs can be found. Afterwards we take a 15 min cable car journey up the Dajti Mountain. The views from the cable car and from the cliff are breath-taking. You will have a panoramic view of Tirana city and the Adriatic sea in the distance.
We continue to Durres, the second largest town in Albania, located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. The city has a rich history that stretches over 2500 years and still preserves some fascinating attractions to visit. Within the downtown area we will visit the archeological museum, where you will get a thorough overview of the history of the city and from there we shall walk to the ruins of the Roman amphitheater, Byzantine fortifications and the center of the new town. In the afternoon back to Tirana. Overnight at Tirana Hotel.

Excursion to Berat + Apollonia Archaeological | 22nd July
After breakfast we transfer further inland to the UNESCO town of BERAT, the gem of Albania. We will enjoy a guided tour around the old district of Berat, with its pretty white buildings perched on the hill amid pine forests. We walk through the narrow-cobbled streets and finally reach Berat Castle on the slopes of Mount Tomorr, where we are rewarded with breath-taking views (and begin to understand why it is known to Albanians as 'The City of a Thousand Windows').
Coming up next, we will depart towards APOLLONIA Archeological site. Situated in southwestern Albania, this city was built by Greek colonizers on the lands of the Taulanti Illyrian tribe. In Apollonia, you will find a nice combination of unique monuments, archaeology, and landscape. All this scenery creates a special atmosphere that difficult to find anywhere in the Mediterranean.
The ancient city of Apollonia is one of the best known and important classical cities in the country. The site is an important destination for cultural tourism and that is the main reason why it has been visited by a very big number of tourists every year. In the afternoon back to Tirana. Overnight in Tirana Hotel.

Excursion to KRUJA & SHKODER | 23rd July
After breakfast we’ll have a tour of KRUJA. We will visit the Skanderbeg Museum, a rich ethnographic museum inside the castle, and enjoy inspirational views out to the Adriatic Coast. We have time to wander through the mediaeval bazaar full of souvenirs and handicrafts. We will continue our trip to SHKODRA (approx. 1 hour 30’ drive) close to the border of mountainous Montenegro. Visit the Rozafa castle and central part of the town. Shkodra is one of the oldest and most populated cities in Albania’s north. With gorgeous panoramas on the way there and a surprisingly cosmopolitan and compact downtown core, unwinding after your journey to get here couldn’t be easier. Back to Tirana. Overnight at Tirana Hotel.
