Dating back to the 9th century, the majestic Prague castle is the largest ancient castle in the world and is Prague’s most famous attraction. It covers an area that’s about 570m in length and 128m wide (bigger than seven large football fields combined). The view of the castle on the left side of the beautiful Vltava River is not to be missed. This is a setting perfect for artists and photographers. The iconic structure has already been the inspiration behind many fairy tales, movies, works of art, and tv shows. Within the fortress there are various collections of historic buildings, museums, and galleries. Climb to Prague’s highest point and witness the unsurpassed beauty of the amazing panoramic view.
Beautiful architecture
Charles Bridge
Definitely among the most recognizable bridges in Europe, the Charles Bridge is a beautiful stone Gothic bridge that connects Old Town with Lesser Town. A stroll across the bridge above the Vltava River is one of the top activities in Prague. The view is spectacular, especially at sunrise. A cruise in the river is a great way to enjoy it as well. The bridge is 621 metres long and about 10 metres wide, decorated with 30 Boroque statuses of religious figures spread on each side. There are several painters and food venders that show up every day on the bridge. Best time to enjoy it is at dawn before it is crowded.
Wenceslas Square
Wenceslas Square is among the many highlights during a visit to Prague. It is located in the New Town district of the city and is home to the National Museum. The luxurious square was created in the 14th century during the reign of Charles IV as a horse market and over the years has been renowned as one of the city’s most important public spaces. Various celebrations take place in the area to this day. There are a range of great restaurants to experience the fabulous Czech cuisine, along with great shopping.
