A week in Georgia - the amazing things you can see

Georgia is a breathtakingly beautiful country straddling Europe and Asia. Its proximity to UAE, and a characteristic European charm make it a coveted destination for travellers from UAE. Though a lot of tourists head to Georgia for a long weekend, we feel that this amazing country deserves a week-long holiday. These are some of our suggestions on what you can do on a holiday in Georgia.

Day 1 – Arrive in Tbilisi

After reaching the capital city of Tbilisi, the supreme jewel of Georgia, head to the hotel. We suggest that you relax in the comforts of your hotel room and get some restful sleep.

Day 2 – Tour of Tbilisi

Tbilisi is a breathtaking city where the history and culture mingle with each other to give  tourists a surreal experience. While you marvel at the incredible architecture and modern infrastructure, you may find yourself stopping to admire the little things such as the cobbled pathways, quaint courtyards and rustic houses. We suggest that you drive down to Mtskheta which is rightfully considered as the spiritual heart of Georgia. This UNESCO World Heritage site brims with history and some stunning landmarks including monasteries and churches. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Mtskheta truly captures the soul of Georgia.

Day 3 – A day trip to Mount Kazbek

Now that you have seen the charming Tbilisi, it would be ideal to make a day trip to Mount Kazbek on your 3rd day in Georgia. Towering high in the Caucasus Mountains, Mt. Kazbek offers panoramic views of the lush landscape around. Perfect for hiking enthusiasts, Mt. Kazbek also hosts the grand Gergeti Trinity Church, which is a major crowd-puller. Perched majestically at an epic height of 2160 meters, this church was constructed in the 14th century.

Day 4 – A day trip to Vardzia

Vardzia is not only a great escape in the Georgian mountains, but it is also an enchanting 12th century monastery. A 30-minute steep climb will lead you to this jaw-dropping cave city that is the pride of Georgian mountains. With a network of mysterious tunnels and rooms that run deep into the Erusheli Mountain, this monastery has a mystical appeal to it. This spectacular tourist attraction is a definite draw for history lovers and adventure seekers.

Vardzia

Day 5 – Head to Batumi

A 6-hour drive from Tbilisi will take you to Batumi, a seaside resort town in Georgia. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing in your hotel or by taking a walk around the city.

Day 6 – Tour of Batumi

The beautiful city of Batumi is one of the top holiday destinations of Georgia. Home to a horde of attractions, there will never be a dearth of entertainment when you are in Batumi. Vibrant and brimming with life, this seaside resort town is dotted with pretty promenades and pebbled pathways. If you take a leisurely walk, you will be greeted with quaint shops and cute cafes on either side of the street. This is your day to visit the Botanical Garden, Makhuntseti Waterfall and Gonio Castle.


Batumii

Day 7 – Return to Tbilisi

Return to Tbilisi and take a flight back to Dubai.
