Hegra

Hegra

Hegra is a testament to the Nabataean civilisation and as such is one of the most undisturbed areas of Al Ula. Dating back to the middle of the 1st century, Hegra is the lesser-known sister city of Petra. Consisting of mostly sandstone cliffs, the roots of this ancient city are fascinating as is the fact that these cliffs house tombs that are 7,000 years old.

With every newly discovered tourist attraction, the area becomes automatically busy and abuzz with tourists. However, the beauty of AlUla remains in the fact that it has been left undisturbed for the last 2,000 years making your experience of it yours alone.
