Musafir resident Santosh is back from a mind-blowing holiday in Rajasthan. The land of Maharajas wooed him with royal treatment and left him basking in all the regal glory. We had a chat with him to know more about his little journey.

Santosh, we know that Rajasthan has been on your list for a long time. Tell us which all places you covered and whether Rajasthan met your expectations?

Oh yes! It went beyond my expectations. I travelled with my family, and visited Udaipur, Jodhpur, Pushkar and Jaipur.

Tell us more about your experience in all these places.

We set out on a train journey from Mumbai to Udaipur. Udaipur stunned us with its magnificent palaces and the adventurous Mansapurna Karni Mata Ropeway. Our next stop was at Jodhpur, where we visited the Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Ghanta Ghar market. And finally we headed to the capital city of Jaipur and wrapped it up with a city tour.

It seems like you have packed in a lot during your Rajasthan holiday. What did you enjoy the most in your trip?

palace

It is hard to pick one. I absolutely loved the Rajasthani food and exploring the forts.Of all the things we experienced, my wife enjoyed shopping the most. I would also highly recommend Chokhi dhani - an ethnic village where we enjoyed a plethora of activities like Rajasthani folk dances, puppet shows, magic shows and traditional Rajasthani dinner.

Is there any food in particular that you enjoyed?

Rajasthan food is lip smacking. Dal baati churma was absolutely divine.

Do you recommend visiting Rajasthan to our readers?

family

Definitely. If you want to discover Indian culture and tradition, then a visit to Rajasthan is the thing to do.

Do you have any suggestions for those who are planning a Rajasthan holiday?

There is a lot to explore in Rajasthan, so you will need around 10 days. And watch out for taxi drivers and auto drivers who may fool you by taking you to shops they are tied up with. Sometimes the products can be overpriced, but of very bad quality.
