Stunning beaches in Phuket

November 22, 2015

Phuket is among the countless islands in Thailand blessed with beaches that feature bays of beautiful soft white sand, crystal-clear waters, and gorgeous green surroundings. All of them are truly spectacular. No wonder it is one of the most well-known beach destinations in the world. It is the ultimate place where you can make your tropical paradise dreams come to life. Whether you want to discover secret beaches for a more private environment or you’ll opt for the more popular ones, Phuket has it all. We’ve compiled a list of the best beaches of this surreal island.

Kata beach

Kata beach is one of the nicest Phuket beaches and therefore very popular with tourists. A huge part of its charm is the line of Casuarina trees around it, providing a relaxing shade all over the beach. Also, the waves provide a perfect setting for surfing. Despite being quite busy, it is a very beautiful beach; it is an all-round favourite because of the various accommodation options close by, top restaurants, and active nightlife.

Bang Tao Beach

Bang Tao is one of the longest beaches in Phuket stretching out to about 8 kilometres of perfect waters and is considered to be among the absolute best of Phuket beaches. The beach is within the famous Laguna Complex, which contains luxury hotels, resorts, and villas, as well as a private golf course. The northern part of the beach is still a bit secluded so it still gives you a feeling of privacy away from the crowds at Laguna.

Nai Thon Beach

This beach is for those looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a quiet swim. It is a one kilometre stretch of amazing water. The journey to reach the beach is enjoyable for those seeking an adventure; on the southern side of Nai Thon, there’s a narrow road that leads to Phuket’s last remaining virgin jungle with perfect winds. If you are driving from the north, however, you will reach an old village and a lush green valley that leads up to the beach. All required facilities are around, from restaurants to hotels. You can discover the surrounding jungle, take a long-tail boat and explore rocky coves, or try scuba diving which can be arranged by the dive shop on the beach road.

Laem Singh Beach

Laem Singh is not easily accessible, which allowed it to keep its natural beauty away from modern development. It has gained popularity recently because the beach itself is absolutely stunning and you can enjoy clean clear waters. The only way to reach Laem Singh is through a 5-minute walk down a steep, rough cliffside path, which could be interesting for some travellers. The beach is worth the journey though. With exotic aquatic life and fascinating rock formations all around the beach that add to the magnificent view, Laem Singh is very unique (you’ll notice a large rock carving the beach into two parts, but one can walk or swim around it). You can try snorkelling or ride a jet ski. Beach vendors have been setting up there as well.
