Stunning skylines around the world

November 26, 2015

A glistening skyline is one of the most iconic elements of a city and there is quite an impressive number with absolutely breath-taking ones, with each city celebrating its own uniqueness. Beauty differs in perspective though; while iconic buildings such as the Burj Khalifa make for an unforgettable skyline, it doesn’t have to include tall modern buildings for that sheer beauty; it could be ancient wonders like the famous Pyramids of Giza, among countless others.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur’s architecture has a diversity of influences, including Asian traditions combined with Malay Islamic structures. It is home to the tallest twin structures in the world, built in the shape of rockets. It is arguably one of the most recognizable skylines.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Dubai is a city that came to be what it is today in such a short time, you almost think it came out of nowhere. With some of the most modern and beautiful architecture available today, its skyline may be young but one of the most unique. Hotels in Dubai are among the tallest and most luxurious, as well as residential buildings, not forgetting that it now holds the record of having the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa.

Singapore

Anyone who has been to Singapore will say how clean and well-planned it is, almost too perfect. Although it has air traffic control restrictions that limit buildings to less than 280 meters in height, it still has one of the most amazing skylines in the world and its home to the multi-billion dollar building Marina Bay Sands.

Istanbul, Turkey

With a combination of old and new architecture, Istanbul’s skyline is known for its diverse mix of mosques and metropolis. There is an ancient charm about the historic city’s skyline that makes you fall in love with it.

Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is for sure one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Its skyline is unique thanks to the view of the famous Danube River which flows right through the centre of the city and the Chain bridge, along with a collection of breath-taking architecture on each side.
