If you are a beach lover then Colombia might be your next destination. It has been named the second best destination in the world to discover in 2017 by the world-renowned travel publisher Lonely Planet, which highlights the mix of vibrant culture, wildlife, nature and hospitality as the country’s top attractions. Prepare your luggage and travel kit for the beach as we introduce you to the top 5 beaches along the Caribbean Coast of Colombia from the north to the south.
PUNTA GALLINAS, GUAJIRA
Colombia’s northernmost point is a mostly desertic area. The most popular beach area in this region is called Punta Gallinas, where the big desert meets the Caribbean. It is also a great destination to have a cultural experience by visiting indigenous tribes from the Wayuu culture that live in the surrounding caserios (country houses).
