A European tour is never complete without passing by the vibrant Austrian capital Vienna. It is a city known for the graceful moves of the Viennese waltz and the royal-like coffee shops. Vienna is a historical destination crucial to the development of Europe thanks to its ideal location. As a result, it proudly boasts a collection of stunning buildings and monuments attracting travellers from all over the world. This beautiful city is poised on both sides of the “Blue Danube” with an enchanting old town recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Vienna was truly at the heart of the medieval Holy Roman Empire and afterwards the Hapsburg Austro-Hungarian Empire. There are various monuments throughout the capital reminding us today of the city’s distinguished past. From the Imperial Palace to the Hapsburg burial vault, as well as the palaces of Belvedere and Schonbrunn (now holding Europe’s oldest zoo), a tour in the streets of Vienna is a memorable one for sure. Everything is reasonably close, sometimes walking distances, so it is an adventure to remember. Other highlights include the Spanish Riding School, St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Ring Boulevard, the Ferris Wheel in the Prater pleasure garden, and Danube Island.
