Icelandair is a customer-oriented airline and travel service company. It serves 42 gateways in Europe, the USA, and Canada. Established in 1937, Icelandair is a member of the Icelandair Group and the main airline of Iceland. It has headquarters at Reykjavík Airport. Iceland Air is a leading airline providing flights at an attractive package for cross- Atlantic travellers.
The country takes advantage of being geographically midway between USA and Europe. The airline has been a member of IATA since 1950. It also became a member of AEA (Association of European Airlines) in 1957 and FSF (Flight Safety Foundation) in 1966.
The fleet
Icelandair has a fleet size of 32 aircraft as of November 2016. Interestingly, all the aircraft are named after Iceland’s volcanos. The airline operates flights of Boeing 757 aircraft on scheduled routes. These aircraft were recently renovated with better interiors and in-flight entertainment system. The airline continues to invest in new aircraft, facilities, and equipment to enhance flight experience.

Icelandair serves to 27 destinations from Iceland in Europe and 16 destinations in North America. A few of these destinations are seasonal. Icelandair has the codeshare agreement with some airlines like Aeroflot, Air Iceland, Alaska Airlines, Finnair, JetBlue and Scandinavian Airlines.
Business Class
In Icelandair business class is termed as Saga class. Free meals facility is available only for Business Class. The passenger of Saga Class experience begins from the airport itself. It includes priority check-in and lounge access. It continues on board with pre-flight hot towels, drink and duvet cover for overnight journeys. During the flight, passengers can assume superior service like dedicated cabin crew, gourmet meals, and a selection of fine wines. There are 4-abreast spacious seating, and plenty of legroom to make the traveller feel comfortable working.
Onboard Facilities
All of Icelandair's aircraft are outfitted with a free of charge AVOD in-flight entertainment system that comprises of seatback, touch-screen monitors for each passenger. The airline claims to be exceptionally children-friendly. At-cost meals, pillows, blankets, and headsets are provided, and the in-flight system hosts a variety of children's movies. Icelandair's fleet is equipped with in-flight Wi-Fi. Special Assistance is provided for traveling with pets.
Online booking and Check In
Passengers can Check In online for flights to and from Europe and Canada within 36 hours of departure, and within 24 hours for flights to and from the USA. Online Check-In is accessible for all destinations except for Aberdeen, which is operated by Air Iceland. A special service is offered to Apple users, Apple’s iOS Passbook/Wallet application for iPhone and iPod Touch.
They can store your Icelandair boarding pass, and it can be scanned at the gate on the same day of the flight. The passenger just has to open the link in the email confirmation received after checking in online through their personal computer or mobile device. The boarding pass will save directly to the passenger's Passbook/Wallet.
