Established in 1991, Eritrean Airlines is the national carrier of Eritrea. The airline is completely owned by the government of Eritrea. Eritrean Airlines has its hub at Asmara International Airport. But, the airline restarted functioning in 2011 under the name of Nasair Eritrea. Before the airline flew its first aircraft, the airline served as a handling agent at the airport. It also served as a sales agent for major carriers flying into the country. The airline website provides the complete time table of all the flights which is rarely found on any website.
The fleet
Eritrean Airlines has a fleet of 1 aircraft of Boeing 767-200ER. The airline also has 6 Dornier aircrafts in the country. The historic fleet consisted of Airbus A319-100, A320-200, Boeing 737-300, 737-200 and 767-300ER. It also owned McDonnell Douglas MD-80. The airlines is on the spree to purchase additional plans to fill the increasing demand in the region. The airline plans to purchase more of Airbus A320 and A330. The airline also has plans to build its own passenger terminal as well.
Destinations
Eritrean Airlines flies to 6 destinations in total. The airline travels to Cairo, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Lahore, and Dubai. In October 2011, the services to Karachi was also introduced. The airline plans to add more destinations in the future. At present it provides flights to Pakistan via Dubai. The airline also plans to enter Europe market soon.
Business Class
The new aircraft Airbus A319 has a state of the art cabin with a comfortable seat pitch of 50 and 34 inches. The business class passengers can carry a generous amount of baggage with the airline. The airline has 3 seats on each side in the aircraft. The flight provides in-flight meals to the passengers. The airline provides a variety of cuisines and beverages to choose from.

The airline does not have an online check-in service. The passengers are recommended to arrive at the airport on time. Passengers traveling abroad should reach the airport 3 hours before the flight departure. The domestic passengers are requested to arrive 60 minutes before departure.
