Established in 1929, LOT Polish Airlines is the flag carrier of Poland. LOT Polish Airlines is the oldest airline which is still in operation with its base in Warsaw. The company saw a constant management change since 2000. LOT Polish Airlines has won several awards including the best Airline in Europe as per Global Traveller magazine in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The airline also carries the tag of being the safest airline in the world. The airline returned to profitability for the first time in 2015.
The fleet
The airline currently owns 43 aircraft from the Boeing family. This includes Boeing 737-400, 737-800, 737 MAX 8 and 787-8. It also includes 3 kinds of Embraer of models ERJ-170, ERJ-175, and ERJ-195. The fleet also includes 10 Bombardier Q400. Recently in 2016, the airline planned to lease 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft from Air Lease Corporation. The deliveries will start in 2017.
Destinations
LOT Polish Airlines operates on 60 destinations on domestic and international routes. The airline also has a codeshare agreement with several airlines. It caters in Europe, Middle East, North America and Asia. Most of the destination start from the hub. LOT Polish Airlines is the only airline in the region to have direct long-haul flights to USA, Canada, and China. With the new East meets West policy, the airline is expected to increase Asian destinations in the future.
Business Class
Business Class passengers can avail the lie-flat seats during the long-haul flights. It also has in-flight entertainment system named Thales. The airline has Polonez Business Lounge at the airport. Only business class passengers can avail this service. Some services offered in the lounge are conferencing facilities, internet access, newspapers and TV in all languages, work space and much more. LOT Polish Airlines uses Lufthansa’s frequent flyer program called Miles and More.
Onboard Facilities
All the passenger seats have in-flight entertainment services. This includes a wide range of media like movies, TV shows, music, and games.
