Philippine Airlines or PAL took to the skies on March 15, 1941 with its Beech Model 18 aircraft through the turbulent times of global war. This is Asia’s first airline that focused on promoting and building better relations between nations. With its headquarters at PNB Financial Centre in Pasay City it has other hubs in Mactan-Cebu International Airport of Cebu and Ninoy Aquino International Airport of Manila, Philippines.
Philippine Airlines Fleet
As of December 2014, the Philippine Airlines consist of aircrafts with an average age of 3.9 years. They have 15 A330-300's that were replaced by the previously running A330's and A340s. In the near future they plan to buy 20 Boeing 777X and Boeing 787s in replacement for the aging fleet of 747-400s and Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Their project winter timeline aims to get 100 aircraft that are the latest in terms of design, safety and style. They are targeting Boeing 777X and want to get more Boeing 777-300ER, which they will share with partners including Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Cathy Pacific.
Philippine Airlines Destination
With a majority of routes operating from the two hubs in Manila and Cebu, the airline flies to destinations such as North America, Australia and Asia Pacific. They even had nonstop services to Europe which had to be discontinued due to the Asian financial crisis. However on April 10, 2014 since they were upgraded to Category 1, the airline has announced its plans to re open services to major destinations including Florida, Seattle, Chicago, New York, and San Diego in the US; and Frankfurt, Rome, Amsterdam, Paris and Madrid in Europe. Today PAL from its base travels to numerous destinations including Davo, Hong Kong, Cuba and the UAE.
Philippine Airlines On board Services
Each flight offers two different classes, Fiesta Class (Economy) and Mabuhay Class (Business). The economy class has a touch screen TV and comfortable seats, in which passengers have access to a number of channels and movies. The business class offers gourmet meals, in flight entertainment and priority care from the crew staff. Additionally, you can get a laptop charging point and a USB port for work and listening to music while you relax on your recliner seats with ample leg room.
Philippine Airlines Booking And Web Check In
From 1 hour to 24 hour prior to your flight departure you can use web check in, select your seat, book cheap tickets online and print your boarding pass before physically checking in. Web check in is only available from PAL domestic, PAL international except China, and 2P operated flights, except those travelling to the UAE. Flight tickets via online booking can be booked via credit card payments for all flights.
